Churches Together in Bellingham

Prior to 2000, the three churches in Bellingham: St. Dunstan Anglican Church, United Reformed Christ Church and The Annunciation & St. Augustine’s Roman Catholic Church had an informal arrangement and shared and hosted services such as Good Friday Stations of the Cross, Kristingle, Lenten and Advent programmes in addition to social and community events. In the year 2000 a formal Covenant was agreed which was signed on 2nd December 2000 by Bishop Charles Henderson - Auxiliary Bishop of R.C. Archdiocese of Southwark, Bishop Colin Buchanan – Anglican Bishop of Woolwich and Rev. Raymond Singh for United Reformed Church.

The main aim is:

“TO SEEK, TO WORK AND TO PRAY FOR GOD’S MISSION IN BELLINGHAM”.

The inaugural AGM was held on 6th March 2001 at which the Steering Group was elected comprising the Ministers and some parishioners from each Church. This Steering Group meet at least four times a year and it is chaired/hosted by the Minister of each Church on a yearly rota basis. For more information about the Churches Together, contact the Parish Priest.
