The Annunciation and St Augustine Church was built in 1934 and belongs to the Lewisham Deanery and is also a member of Churches Together in Bellingham.

The Lewisham deanery is one of the twenty deaneries in the archdiocese of Southwark.  It is located within the Lewisham Borough.  There are ten parishes in the deanery.  These Parishes are situated in the following places:  Sydenham Kirkdale, Sydenham, Lewisham, Lee, Forest Hill, Downham, Deptford, Catford, Brockley and Beckenham Hill.  The Dean of the deanery is Canon John Kavanagh, the parish priest of Good Shepherd, Downham.  For further information about these parishes, please visit www.lewishamdeanery.org.uk.
