Gift Aid
Do you know that you can Gift Aid your offerings and other donations to the parish?
What is Gift Aid?
This is a system through which the parish reclaims from the Tax Man the Tax you pay on the offerings or donation you give to the parish. This will cost you no extra cost to whatever offerings or donations you give to the parish. Rather, it will increase your offerings or donations.
How does it work?
All that is needed is for you to register as a Gift Aider in the parish and you will be given two packs of envelopes. The first pack is for the first collection and the second is for the second collection. To be eligible to register as a Parish Gift Aider, you MUST be paying Tax.
The Gift Aid scheme
This enables the parish to benefit some additional funds from the Inland Revenue, without additional cost to you the contributing parishioners.
Using Gift Aid means that for every pound you give, the parish gets an extra 25 pence from the Inland Revenue, helping your donation go further. This means that in every £100.00 you give to the parish, it can be turned into £125, just so long as donations are made through Parish Gift Aid Scheme either by using the parish envelopes given to you or the blue envelopes at the back of the church with your details filled on it or your Gift Aid number written on it. Imagine what a difference that could make and it does not cost you a thing.
Her Majesty's Revenue and Customs (HMRC) will continue to pay 25p on every pound you donate to the parish provided you register as a parish gift aider and that you pay tax. So if you want your donation to go further, GIFT AID IT.
If you do pay tax and wish to gift aid your donation, you can contact the PARISH GIFT AID ORGANISER on: 020 8698 5643 or the PARISH PRIEST on 020 8695 1092.
Alternatively, you can from this link download the parish Gift Aid form (below), print it, fill in your details and drop it into the presbytery or hand it over to the clergy after mass.
Thank you for your kind support and God bless you for your generosity.
