Vocations Team

Picture
The purpose of the Parish Vocation Team is to inspire and assist The Annunciation and St. Augustine Parish in fulfilling its mission of fostering a positive vocations culture and, in particular, encouraging young people to consider a vocation to the ordained ministry and/or religious life. The Parish Vocations Team will do this in three ways:
  1. By encouraging prayer for vocations.- the Parish Vocations Team will look for new ways to promote and increase prayer, for Vocations in our Parish community.
  2. By fostering an awareness of the different Vocations in the Church. -The Parish Vocations Team will make use of posters, notices and other material to highlight the different Vocations within the Church.
  3. By facilitating participation in Vocations Events. - The Parish Vocations Team will publicise the diocesan Vocations Events, and encourage participation from our Parish. This may include organising transport to and from Diocesan events.

RELATIONSHIP TO OTHER GROUPS
The Parish Vocations Team is responsible to, and reports to, the Parish Priest. It will endeavour to work closely with other groups in the parish, especially those involved with Youth Ministry and Catechists. The Parish Vocations Team will also try to meet regularly with other Vocations Teams, in the Lewisham Deanery and in our Archdiocese of Southwark.

MEMBERSHIP
Our Parish Vocations Team is composed of not more than twelve members, approved by the Parish Priest. It is recommended that members serve not more than five consecutive years, unless there is good reason to do otherwise. The Chairman of  the group is Samuel Assibi and the Secretary is Teresa Tagg.

ANNUAL REVIEW
It is recommended that the Parish Vocations Team review its work each year, and prepare a written report, for the Parish Pastoral Council.
